COORDINATOR:  MR. DANIEL TAYLOR, ROOM 205

Our story begins as an inquiry into a project found through an internet search for current events and related information to be used as enrichment in a social studies classroom.  Since the spring of 2013, this project has evolved into a program that has delivered three suitcases to energy impoverished areas in the world, with the materials needed to deliver several more.  To have a little bit of an idea of the impact of this project, see how Solar Electricity is helping in Africa.

You can follow the success of the project over the past two years.  See what we accomplished 2013-2014.  See what we accomplished 2014-2015.  There was also a story posted on the Montclair School District website on 11/3/14.
During the spring of 2014, staff participate in a six hour workshop to learn about the construction of a Solar Suitcase.  This was a one-day assembly of the suitcase, preceded by several hours of in-class instruction, that was accomplished after school.
