STEAM CAREER DAY 2020!

The seventh edition of STEAM Career Day has been set for Friday, March 20th!  We are very much looking forward to your expertise and education of our wonderful students with respect to your interesting careers.   Below is the information for your convenience.  Please let us know whether or not you are available to participate as a presenter or on the logistics team.   We look forward to your responses.

Time:  8am-2:00pm

Place:  Buzz Aldrin Middle School
Presentations:  either 2 or 4, 60-minute presentations (each presenter) with 5-10 minutes for student's questions and succinct responses from presenters nad survey completion.
Audience:  *25 - 35 students per session maximum.  *possibility for larger venues if desired.  Please inquire.

If you are interested, please consider the following:
1. goal/objective of your presentation
2. proposed *activity to accomplish your goal so we can review it with you
*We prefer an actual hands-on/minds-on activity to get the students involved in a process that highlights an aspect of you profession.  We are not very interested in straight lectures, unless of course you are a dynamic presenter/lecturer!
3. short bio (4-6 sentences)
4. technology/materials needed and/or preferred room set up, etc
5. Catchy title for your presentation

Any questions please contact Daniel Taylor
dtaylor@montclair.k12.nj.us

*We would like the experience of the students to be as interactive and "hands-on" as possible.  In other words, how will you engage them in the comprehension of you presentation?  We want to avoid "lectures" at all costs.  We want the students to be "wowed" and engaged with you.  The best way to do this is to get them moving and/or thinking.  Please be patient with this process as we try and help you provide the best possible delivery of your objective and content.
